About Us

Hello I’m Chloë Schechter and I am the founder and leader of Embodiment Ed. I am currently a student at NYC Lab High school and a dancer at Peridance Center. I have been dancing for 13 years in various styles from ballet and modern to tap and contemporary. I’ve worked with young dancers and saw how dance and movement affected their moods and self esteem. As a student with attention deficit disorder myself I’ve experienced firsthand the outlet dance provides and the beneficial role dance and movement has played to help me focus, learn and be academically successful in school. I have also founded and am the co leader of the NYC Teen Dance Collective, a collective where I and a group of youth dancers discuss how dance has affected our lives, mental health and dance, the many benefits dance provides and has provided for us, etc. Additionally, as co leader of my school’s Body Positivity Club I’m ardently passionate about bringing inclusivity into the dance world, so that the joy and benefits of movement can be enjoyed by all.  I created Embodiment Ed to spread awareness on the many benefits movement has for our children in schools, when used in therapy and so much more.
